OHM is a three-piece jazz/fusion group featuring former Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland, drummer Kofi Baker (son of Cream’s Ginger Baker), and six-string fretless bassist Robertino Pagliari. This cd was recorded live on the air for a show called "Travel Tips For Aztlan" at KPFX Pacifica Radio 90.7 FM, Los Angeles, CA, a commercial free and independently owned radio station. A long way from the thrash metal days of Megadeth, guitarist Chris Poland now opts for the subtle as opposed to the bombastic. He certainly still tears up the fretboard but the arena is completely different. It’s great to see that he has found life after Megadeth, when so many others from the era have just disappeared.
The Bloody Truth: Anyone looking for thrash metal should look elsewhere, ‘cause this ain’t it. OHM is a quality jazz/fusion project but it will probably only interest guitar aficionados and fans of the genre, as opposed to fans of Megadeth. Crank up the score if you’re into this style of music.
