Minute By Minute are commercial sounding, rhythm and blues rock band with a 70s vibe. Featuring English guitarist Ray Fenwick, who played with the Ian Gillan Band and The Spencer Davis Group, the origins of Long Hot Night date back to 1987 when these songs were recorded in demo form (4 of those demos are included here as bonus tracks). Apparently, Long Hot Night was released in the 90s but this version is remastered and includes the previously mentioned bonus tracks. The album also spotlights the smokey blues-based vocals of Polle Eduard and Rainbow drummer Cozy Powell (RIP).
The Bloody Truth: If you like crying guitar leads and upbeat but emotion-driven blues based rock, you'll dig this classic sounding recording. The overall production is pristine on the 16-tracks (that includes the demos). As you can see, this has sat in the review stack for 5 years, but since I just dug it out, I felt it deserved a positive review (despite not being hard rock or metal). Check it out if you like the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Colin James.
