Mandown’s unoriginal masked image is a ripoff of SlipKnot and the WWE. Musically, this is everything that’s bad about today’s heavy music. Besides sounding like every other angry band, the playing is sloppy as hell, the down-tuned rhythms are bland, the throaty vocals are oh-so typical, and the songs are boring. There isn’t even one hook to be had. The tunes are heavy as the cd title states, but so what? Get a load of the band’s members: Dread Sikfuk (guitars/insults), Sikko McFukrhed (bass, throat), Dik Phister (drums/injuries). That says it all.
The Bottom Line: If this is where heavy metal is headed, the genre is dead. This is the problem with technology, now anybody can form a band and make a cd. If you like the modern metal crap that’s out today, then you’ll probably find this to be interesting, but if you grew up during the 70s and 80s, you’d toss this cd in the garbage like I’m going to do. | ||
