Not sure who George Bellas is?  Well, he certainly is one of the best shred guitarists in music today.  On Venomous Fingers, not only does he prove that he’s fast as hell, but he displays his fluidity and effortless sweep picking.  A neo-classical vibe is present throughout but that shouldn’t be much of a surprise considering Bach, Beethoven and Paganini are cited as influences.

This is George’s third solo album but his first for Finland’s Lion Music.  Discovered by Shrapnel Records head-honcho Mike Varney in 1996, George has been busy with solo work and lending his skills to John West, Mogg/Way and Ring Of Fire (featuring former Rising Force vocalist Mark Boals) ever since.

The Bloody Truth:  If you are a fan of fast fretwork and technical brilliance Venomous Fingers will be right up your alley.  This kind of material isn’t for everybody, and 15 tracks of shredding may be a bit much for even loyal fans of speedy licks, but nobody will be able to deny Bellas’ talent.  It’s also important to note that Bellas also handled bass, keyboards and production on this cd.
