Germany has produced some fine metal acts over the years, but there is none finer than Accept.  1983's Balls To The Wall marked the pinnacle of their career, and in 2001 Legacy Recordings reissued the cd with two bonus live tracks ("Head Over Heels" and "Love Child").

While the term 'heavy metal' has been stretched and distorted over the years to encompass everything from Poison to Judas Priest to Pearl Jam to Limp Bizkit, Accept's Balls To The Wall is the definition of what a heavy metal album should sound like.  It is the purest metal you can find, with anthems throughout, hook filled verses and choruses, power chords, fret burning leads, and rhythms that make you bang your head.  Who can forget the lyrics from the title track, especially the line "Let's plug a bomb in everyone's ass!"  Great stuff.

The Bloody Truth: Balls To Wall is the quintessential Accept album and one of the best heavy metal albums of all time.  If you want to know what made metal so great in the early 80s, grab this one.  You'll understand why the genre is now a shadow of what it used to be.  Albums of this quality just aren't composed these days.
